During an immersive week-long workshop held at Red-Earth Ranch in Chandler, Texas, under the guidance of SIREWALL© USA, I embarked on a transformative journey. Throughout this experience, I delved into the rich history of SIREWALL© development, honed my practical skills through hands-on activities involving the forming, delivery, and compaction of two adjoining SIREWALLS©. Additionally, I had the privilege of engaging in enlightening conversations with the accomplished and well versed SIREWALL© team, exploring a wide spectrum of captivating subjects such as innovative design, engineering, and sustainable practices aimed at fostering a healthier future for our planet. In collaboration with the architectural design firm fourddesign and the interior design studio fuse living, I actively participated in the construction of two walls for a prototype single-person shelter, purposefully designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals grappling with the autoimmune disorder known as SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome). This hands-on experience not only allowed me to contribute to a noble cause but also exemplified the potential of the SIREWALL© (Structural Insulated Rammed Earth) system in creating sustainable and healing environments.
