During the initial months of the pandemic, as I diligently tackled all my school tasks from the confines of home, the essence of this product design project gradually unfolded before me. My imaginative vision for the endeavor revolved around crafting an object that would emanate a tranquil and enveloping yellow luminosity, effectively transforming my bedroom into a haven of serene sanctuary. Carefully working with a 12 inch by 24 inch aluminum sheet, I artfully shaped and curved it around a wooden foundation, creating an elegant platform to accommodate a 5 inch tall L.E.D. Edison light bulb. The front surface of the aluminum sheet was painted with a sleek coat of gloss black paint, resulting in a strikingly modern sculptural piece. In a deliberate design choice, the reverse side of the sheet remained intentionally untouched, allowing the gentle radiance of the Edison bulb to scatter, casting soft golden reflections that added to the overall atmosphere in a graceful way.
